Reno Wildland Fire Awareness
Multi-Hour Trail Event
Saturday, May 13th, 2017
Hosted by the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension’s Living With Fire Program in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management
This 3rd annual charitable race event in Reno, NV will take place on the exciting trails at Washoe County’s Bartley Ranch Regional Park. 100% of race proceeds will benefit our fallen firefighters’ families and firefighters injured in the line of duty. This annual event showcases our incredible firefighters in Northern Nevada and gives participants the ability to learn about wild fire prevention!
How it Works!
This is a unique event that lets you decide how long you would like to run/ walk in the time allotted!
Pick your time: 1 Hour/ 3 Hour/ 6 Hour and run ANY distance. 5 miles or 50 miles, it is up to you how you want to use your time!
You can choose between being a solo runner, 3 person team, or 6 person team!
A solo runner can run as many laps as he or she wants in the time allotted.
Awards will be based on how many laps solo runners can run in their time slot!
There will be teams of 3 or 6 for each division!
The teams will be aggregate style. That means teams can run together and take breaks whenever.
(One person can take a break while the team continues, or the team can take a break together).
Teams will get an overall team time and each team member will also get an individual time.
Awards will be based on how many laps the entire team completes.
So every team member will count in adding up the overall laps completed! Each team can also create their own name!
This race is a great way to learn about fire awareness, run with your local firefighters, and see how far you can go based on time!
