Summerlin Half Marathon
Partnering with Girls on the Run
The Summerlin Half Marathon is a beautiful scenic loop running through the incredible parks and communities of Summerlin, Nevada. The course travels through 4 of Summerlin’s best trail parks. Enjoy ‘secret’ paths filled with desert landscape. Run through tunnels and park settings nestled against the skyline of the Red Rock mountains. The course opens up to incredible views of the Las Vegas Strip then drops into lush parks filled with green.

Course Map & Aid Stations
A few course changes have been made to the 2016 course route!
The Summerlin Half Marathon begins and ends at the new Downtown Summerlin. Runners will travel north on Pavilion Center Drive for the first two and a half miles to Sageberry Dr. Runners will run up Sageberry Dr before jumping onto the park trail in Tree Top Park and running along Arbors Paseo trail to Arbors Trail & Play Park. Exiting the trail at Arbors Trail & Play Park, runners then travel on Laurelglen Dr, Acacia Tree, Anasazi and Town Center Drive.
Miles 5.5 through 9 have a mix of climbs and level areas taking runners through the Cottonwood Canyon Trails, north along the Western Beltway Trail and west toward Red Rock Canyon. Miles 7.5 though 9 will offer incredible views of the Las Vegas Valley with a great photo opportunity at the pedestrian bridge at Far Hills Drive.
Runners will travel on Far Hills before reaching Desert Foothills Dr and running all the way down the last 4 miles of the course! Runners will jump on the Western Beltway Trail from Desert Foothills and continue downhill to the finish line!
There will be 6 aid stations, each is separated by approximately two miles. Each aid station will be stocked with water and gatoraid.

Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run® is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to creating a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.
Girls on the Run is a life-changing, non-profit program for girls in the 3rd through 8th grade. Our mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.
The 20-lesson Girls on the Run curriculum combines training for a 5K (3.1 miles) running event with lessons that inspire girls to become independent thinkers, enhance their problem solving skills and make healthy decisions. All of this is accomplished through an active collaboration with girls and their parents, schools, volunteers, staff, and the community.
Las Vegas is an Independent Council of Girls on the Run International, which has a network of 200+ locations across the United States and Canada.
We will be having a raffle to raise funds for this amazing organization. 100% of raffle proceeds will go to Girls on the Run. Raffle tickets will be on sale at packet pickup and race morning!
