In 2008 and 2009, due to construction on the levee, a detour was created. This was temporary and should not apply for the 2010 races. Two incredible performances were turned in, considering the detour added 1.2 miles to the course. In 2008, Todd Braje ran 5:49:34 and in 2009, Chakaro Omine ran 5:45:41.
