Description
There is a 0.4 mile walk to the start line, but finish is at Cavitt School. The event is run along a scenic section of the bike trail, adjacent to the American River.
- The 50 mile is a 25 mile out and back.
- The 50K is a 15.55 mile out and back.
- The 30K is a 9.3 mile out and back.
All races are run in the same direction, with the first half being slightly downhill, and slightly uphill on the return trip. The course is sanctioned by USA Track & Field (USATF).
All races will start at 7:00 AM.

Sunrise is at 6:45 AM and sunset is 4:54 PM. Temperatures can range from 40° - 70° F. Rain is a possibility.
Time Limits
Cutoff times are for the safety of all runners. Aid station captains and USATF personnel have the authority to pull any runner for failure to make reasonable progress.
- 50 mile: 12 hours
- 50K: 10 hours
- 30K: 9 hours
Aid Stations
Ten fully staffed and stocked aid stations that you will visit 19 times will be set up on the course.
Water, Gatorade, Coca-Cola, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, boiled potatoes & salt, pretzels, chips, saltines, cookies, M&M's, peanuts, bananas, fruit, etc.
Gels will not be available at the aid stations. You will receive an adequate supply in your goodie bag that you can carry with you. Remember to dispose of the wrapper at the aid stations.
Drop Bags
Drop bags will be transported to the Sunrise Aid Station. Drop bags may be left at the Cavitt School and Sunrise aid stations. A flashlight and jacket left at Sunrise is recommended for runners expecting to run between 11 and 12 hours.
